Featured Session: Jerrica Kristina PhotographyThe session in Jerrica’s words … “This session was so much fun as well as time consuming! When I started this project it was only going to be one newspaper dress. As I started the idea kept growing and growing. Finally, I decided I wanted to do a timeline of fashion with the newspaper dresses but wanted to add something to make the whole project more unique. So I asked a friend, jewelry artist, Szarka Carter to collaborate with me! She let me use about eight of her necklaces to use with my dresses! I feel the necklaces brought the dresses a more dramatic feel and just what I needed to give it the extra flare I was looking for.
The dresses in order were the Masquerade Ball Gown, 1920′s Flapper Dress, 1950′s Halter Dress, and the 1970′s “Hippie” Dress. If I had to choose a favorite I couldn’t! My favorite prop for one of the sessions was most definitely the newspaper hat that went with the 1920′s Flapper dress. It was a ton of fun to make, and I had to use my own head to shape it correctly. It was rather funny, because I had to keep going back and forth to the mirror and the hot glue gun to make it just right.
